Monika Mockutė to Lead the Origination Team at Orion Securities

The management team of the full-service investment firm Orion Securities has been strengthened by the appointment of Monika Mockutė, who will lead the origination team starting May 13. According to CEO Paulius Žurauskas, reinforcing the competencies of the investment banking team is part of the company’s long-term strategy to actively develop the Baltic capital market.

“Our region’s capital market has clear growth potential, but unlocking it requires strengthening local investment banking capabilities: the ability to structure, prepare, and scale investment projects so they become attractive to a broader range of investors. It is equally important to build an ecosystem that ensures speed and efficiency offering all services from a single source. This would allow a larger share of value creation to remain within the region and accelerate market maturity.

The investment banking team at Orion Securities will place even greater focus on issue management, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance. This will enable further improvements in service quality,” says P. Žurauskas.

Based on the latest audited data from the Bank of Lithuania, Orion Securities is country’s leading non-bank financial brokerage firm and currently employs 40 professionals. The company’s investment banking team provides comprehensive services to companies and investors, helping raise capital, execute acquisition or sale transactions, and ensure connectivity between Baltic issuers and both local and international investors.

M. Mockutė has accumulated nearly a decade of experience at major banks operating in Lithuania, SEB and Luminor. At the latter, she contributed to organizing some of the largest bond transactions in the Baltic region, from structuring to execution, working with issuers, investors, and other market participants.

The newly appointed Head of Origination at Orion Securities also spent three years building experience in corporate finance and capital raising while leading the treasury of SIRIN Development, one of the largest industrial real estate developers in the Baltics, working closely with banks and international institutional investors.

“By joining Orion Securities, I aim to contribute to strengthening investment banking competencies with practical experience from the business side. Working within companies has given me a close understanding of how financing decisions are made, what factors determine them, and what truly matters in raising capital. I believe that by combining a practical perspective with the team’s expertise, we can develop solutions that more precisely meet companies’ needs and strengthen the connection between businesses and investors,” says M. Mockutė.

According to data from the Nasdaq Central Securities Depository and calculations by Orion Securities, the company ranked second in Lithuania and fourth in the Baltic states in 2025 by the volume of publicly distributed bonds in the local market. Last year, its experts raised more than EUR 100 million for clients across 12 issues and successfully executed the share sale transaction of Skinija.

Consistent Growth Across All Areas

Last year, Orion Securities recorded growth across all business areas while maintaining a stable operating model. Revenue from commissions and services increased to EUR 6.29 million (approximately 20% higher than in 2024), while net service income reached EUR 4.97 million. This growth was driven by an increased volume of transactions, advisory engagements, and investment banking projects. The number of institutional clients grew the fastest, tripling, while the number of retail and corporate clients also increased steadily.

In 2025, depository operations expanded significantly: assets under custody for collective investment undertakings grew by more than 20% and now exceed EUR 615 million. A very high capital adequacy ratio (around 179%) reflects a strong financial position and prudent risk management.

The company continues to invest in family wealth management, private banking, and financial market brokerage services, alongside improvements in service quality, supported by a renewed team of experts. It has also successfully introduced real estate brokerage services, expanding its activities in the investment real estate segment last year.

“We consistently follow our strategic direction of expanding both in breadth and depth, enhancing expertise across all investment services and offering clients an integrated capital management ecosystem. Our business plan foresees that by 2028, results across all areas will nearly double. Even more importantly, I believe this approach will contribute to the sustainable growth of our capital markets and accelerate their development,” says P. Žurauskas.
